A Poll for College Football Fans

To the right I've got a new poll up that will close at 8am on Saturday, September 3.

For you college football fans out there, you can predict who will win the BCS National Championship.

The choices are the following:

  • All of the teams ranked in the pre-season top ten,
  • Any SEC team outside of the pre-season top ten (SEC field), and
  • A Non-SEC team outside of the pre-season top ten (the rest of the field).

I picked Oklahoma, but I think the BCS title game will be the SEC champ vs. one of (OK, OK St., Stanford, Oregon, Nebraska, or Wisconsin - whichever goes undefeated) and I will root passionately against seeing a 6 on the SEC media guide next year.

Of course it should be a 5* this year, but I digress.....

The advantage that the Big 12/10 teams now have is that they don't have to play in a conference championship.

I think people are sleeping on Mizzou. Sure, they lost Gabbert, but they didn't lose that much from last season, did they?

I went with Florida State since I'm too superstitious to pick the Tide. They get OU at home and the ACC is navigable until they probably meet VA Tech in the championship game.

If the asterisk is referring to the Cam Newton BCS Championship, I see little hope in Auburn getting some USC-like treatment since Tennessee got nothing recently.

Shhh, that's how we like it. :)

Yeah, if Gabbert had stayed in school I bet Mizzou would be a preseason top 10 team. Franklin isn't as good a pro-style QB as Yo Gabba Gabbert, but he might be a better college QB, if that makes sense.

I think the defense has a chance to be really, really good. There is a lot of depth in the front 7 and the secondary I think will be OK even though the 2 starting CBs from last year graduated.

I think the WRs will be a better group overall than last year and the OL is super experienced even though they lost their best one to an injury.

I think that the OK, OK State, Mizzou round-robin could determine the Big XII championship. All three teams could easily run the table on the other 10 games IMO. Having said that, Mizzou plays some tough road games this year and I would be surprised to see them get through all of them unscathed.

We will see, I can't wait. It is fun rooting for a team that has a path to the MNC that is merely unlikely rather than delusional.
