Sunday Hangover: Kentucky

With Alabama's win versus Kentucky and with Georgia manhandling Ole Miss, we're back to a SEC Championship of Alabama versus Georgia.

Alabama dominated Kentucky.

Milroe was excellent again, and Alabama seems to have found an identity. The OC has built in some QB runs. That wrinkle coupled with Milroe's improved passing has created a fun offense.

There were some significant mishaps though. McKinstry having a ball go through his hands on a punt return, which then gave the Wildcats great field position, and Milroe throwing a pick when he should have thrown it away were not good.

But the dude threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns. And he ran for 36 net yards and three touchdowns.

I thought the Tide's defense would get a few more sacks. They only had three. But they totally shut down Kentucky's run offense. One of the best RBs in the SEC only gained 26 net yards.

The Tide had 9 tackles for loss.

For whatever reason, Lawson was out, but Campbell played admirably as the defense's signal caller.

Next up is Chattanooga before the Tide travel to Auburn, who is a team that has improved.

[Belated] Sunday Hangover: Kentucky

I only got to watch part of the game because I was driving during the first half of the game, but the score speaks for itself: a 60-point margin of victory.

Devonta Smith made SEC history with a couple of touchdowns, and Mac Jones looked great.

You know it's a lopsided game when the probable third or fourth running back on the roster led all RBs in rushing yards. Jase McClellan ran 10 times for a net yards gained of 99. And of course Najee Harris had a solid game and contributed two rushing touchdowns.

Many underused players got lots of playing time, but one fellow that stood out defensively was Christian Harris with 11 total tackles and a sack.

Next up is the Iron Bowl hosted by Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

[Belated] Sunday Hangover: Kentucky

It's been a while since Alabama played Kentucky in football.

As we've seen in past games this season, the Tide's D played well. Harrison picked up a stripped ball for a touchdown, which adds yet another non-offenisve touchdown to the season.

As for the offense, they put together some good plays in the first half but didn't put together many decent drives. Despite Coach Saban barking at Hurts for not hitting a wide-open O.J. Howard on a long pass and some other gaffes, the freshman quarterback played fairly well.

Ridley had a heck of a game. So did true freshman Joshua Jacobs. He rushed for exactly 100 yards. During the game both Mrs. Nasty and I commented that he reminds of Mark Ingram, one of my favorite Alabama running backs. My next dog will probably be called Ingram even though it'll probably be a female.

The next three games are going to be tough: at Arkansas, at Tennessee (who seem to be able to pull wins out of their ass), and vs. Texas A&M.
