I came across an article today on Mizzou's Rivals site.
In "If Mizzou Moves, All Signs Point South," Gabe DeArmond provides an article that will probably light up the message boards. He intimates that if Mizzou moves, it sounds like the SEC would prefer to add them as the league's 14th member after Texas A&M.
He concludes the article with this paragraph: "As has been the case throughout the realignment situation, there are many moving parts. No deal is done until it is officially done. But all indications are that if Missouri chooses to leave the Big 12, or if there is no Big 12 to leave, the SEC is the likely landing spot for the Tigers."

Oooooo, Mizzou vs Arkansas in conference play...I'm there!
Adding both A&M and Mizzou would necessitate a shakeup of the division structures as they stand.
If you actually go by geography, moving Alabama and Auburn to the East makes sense. That would be good news to Arkansas and LSU but bad news for the S. Carolina, Florida, and Georgia.
Or maybe you go to North and South divisions?
North: Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama or South Caroina, and Mizzou
South: LSU, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina or Alabama, and A&M
Of course, either Alabama or South Carolina being in the "North" is funny as hell.
Funny as hell and probably fightin' words for some of those good ole boys!
One of my favorite lines from Twain goes something like this: "South Carolina--too small to be a republic, too large to be an insane asylum."
I dusted off the atlas last night and Athens, Columbia, and Tuscaloosa are close to the same latitude, so I think you could pick any of those three for a mythical North division.
Or maybe not. With the Pac 12 not wanting to expand, it looks like the Big 9 might stay together.

My first choice is to stay in a Big 12 that has a more equal revenue sharing and invite BYU to make it a 10 team conference.
My second choice is probably Big 10 by a hair over SEC, but either would be great. If Mizzou really does have an invite from the SEC, then I think you have to take it. You can't wait for the Big 10 to come calling when you have a premier auto BCS qualifer offering.
On field, I would love to watch the football against the big boys and it would undoubtedly help with recruiting. And it seems possible to get to the BCS as the loser of the SEC championship game where that is apparently not allowed from the Big 12.
It would be awesome to watch Mizzou run rampant on the basketball court over Mike Anderson. Playing Kentucky every year would be a nice yardstick and I'm sure we could still play Kansas in OOC games.
Over at Rock M Nation and at EDSBS they were suggesting that 'Bama and Auburn could move to the SEC east when Mizzou joins the SEC West to keep everyone's rivalry games active. But damn, that SEC east would be packed.
I think the Big 12 Commish needs to scrub up his resume. He may need to look for another job if he hasn't been already.
The Big 12 should bring in BYU and also think about TCU and SMU. Other than that, who else is viable? Houston?
But I've always felt Mizzou is more of a Big 10 school although the Big 10/12 doesn't seem interested. And both Kansas schools and Iowa State seem to be far removed from any discussion.
Even if Alabama and Auburn were in separate divisions, the rivalry would be played every year just like how Alabama plays Tennessee every year and Georgia always plays Auburn.
