Random Notes from a Crank

There's so much to talk about regarding the media dumpster fire around Manti Te'o that broke after the Deadspin article on Wednesday. However, one of the funnier takes on this whole duping of the media about a fake dead girlfriend is "How to Tell If Your Friend's Girlfriend is Not Real: A Lesson from the Manti Te'o Fiasco."

Here's my take though, and this apparently shows my age: Way back when in the good old days, I had girlfriends who I actually met, talked with face-to-face, went on dates with, and had physical contact with (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). It's a concept. That's good old fashioned old technology for dating.

Nudge, nudge, wink, wink...and this is why I believe he was in on the whole hoax from the beginning. Until someone proves to me that he was not, I'm choosing cynicism.

If I'm wrong, I'll post an apology on his wall, but he probably won't believe I'm real. :)

I think he had to be in on it unless he's emotionally unstable and very stupid (and a Notre Dame grad).

If I'm getting my timeline straight, he also still talked about his "girlfriend" and her untimely death after he was told it was a hoax.

He was better off talking about his girlfriend in "Niagara Falls" like the Anthony Michael Hall character in The Breakfast Club.

Of course, after all this time Fawn Hall doesn't look like anyone's real girlfriend either.
