This blog will host my ramblings about life. To be a bit more specific, I'll probably focus on these subjects: music, sports, food, the everyday beauty of life, and the comedy/tragedy/absurdity of our existence. That about covers it.

First Tuesday of November
Well, I voted for a Democrat (Prez, of course), a Green Party candidate who might actually win (State's Attorney), and a Republican (County Coroner) today.
That diversity of selections hasn't happened on my ballot before.

I've never understood why certain municipal offices, like coroner, need to be affilliated with a party. It seems kind of silly.
Election Day always reminds me of the 1992 Presidential Election. If only Ross Perot could have won one state, Chuck wouldn't have destroyed all of his dishes at The Den.
I remember how long the line was to vote at the school across the street from the Newman center in 1992. All of us dorm rats waited in line for over an hour to vote that day and we sung the national anthem at least twice. Very patriotic crowd.
Congrats to President-elect Obama. I sincerely hope I am wrong about him.
Key point - Youth vote. One day those snot-nosed little punks will become a bitter and angry old man like myself. At that point, they hopefully will be contributing to society (paying taxes, etc.) and possibly married w/ children.
I wonder how thier political positions will change?

The 1992 Election Day party was one of the best ever: a drinking game based on which person's candidates' lose states.
I vividly remember Horner sneering at Chuck for "throwing his vote away" by voting for Perot.

Mr. T (aka Travolta)-
No comments or observations of Obama's and his acceptance speech?
His stump / pre-election speeches were a little more pie in the sky.
In my opinion, Obama's speech was good, but McCain's concession speech was the best speech I've seen him give. He seemed genuine.
Very ironic that McCain was better last night than at any other part of his campaign.
